Serve helps Thiemo in warm India

Thiemo has reached the second round of the Chennai qualifiers on Saturday. The 23-year old defeated Spaniard Arnau Brugues-Davi 7-5, 7-6(5) at the Indian hard court event. The heat (30 degrees Celsius) became a struggle for Thiemo during his match. “I am trough to the next round, that is the most important for now”, told Thiemo, who hit a pretty good total of 17 aces during his match.


The 2012 season kicks off in India

Thiemo opens the 2012 season against Arnau Brugues-Davi in the first round of the Chennai qualifiers. It is the first encounter between the Dutchman and the Spaniard. The winner meets Neeraj Elangovan from India or Juan Sebastian Cabal from Columbia in the second round.


'I am on the right track'

“I am statisfied with this week, but it was a bit too much for me in the final today”, sounded Thiemo’s summary of the KNLTB Tennis Masters after his lost match against Robin Haase. “It is tough to play three matches in a row after being more than two months without competitive matches. But a week like this helps me to play at a high level. I am on the right track, and that has been different this year….”


Haase rallies past Thiemo to the title

Thiemo has lost his second consecutive Dutch Tennis Masters final. National number one Robin Haase defeated him 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday. The qualifiers of the Chennai ATP event will be Thiemo’s next event and first one of the new season, in two weeks.
