De Bakker Loses First Round In Brisbane

Thiemo de Bakker lost his first match of the year today in straight sets (6-7, 4-6). The 22 year old Dutch guy played the last match of the day at the ATP-tournament in Brisbane against Denis Istomin from Uzbekistan. Despite his loss De Bakker wasn't unsatisfied with himself saying: "Though I lost I think I played a good match today. I try to see it the positive way. My returns went well and I was very content with my forehand as well. I'll take that with me to my next tournament."

Together with Russian colleague Dmitry Tursunov De Bakker will also play doubles in Brisbane against first seeds Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor.
