Haase rallies past Thiemo to the title

Thiemo has lost his second consecutive Dutch Tennis Masters final. National number one Robin Haase defeated him 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday. The qualifiers of the Chennai ATP event will be Thiemo’s next event and first one of the new season, in two weeks.

Haase started powerful and gave Thiemo tough moments with his groundstrokes, with a quick 3-0 lead as result. Thiemo picked up his game after the weak start, but could not force a break in the first set. The second set showed the same match type. Thiemo played well, but Haase held control and took the match.

Thiemo earned a cheque of 2.000 euro with his runner-up spot. He also received - from tournament director Richard Krajicek - his wild card for the ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam in February 2012.
