First doubles title Thiemo since 2009

Thiemo ended his week at the TEAN International very positive. The Dutchman captured (alongside Antal van der Duim) his first doubles title since 2009 after defeating Igor Sijsling, who won the singles event, and Matwé Middelkoop on Sunday: 6-4, 6-7(4), 10-6.

Van der Duim and Thiemo recorded four wins this weekend, since the doubles event was rescheduled due to bad weather circumstances. They beat Bobbie de Goeijen/Matthew Pierot (6-2, 6-4), Stephan Fransen/Jan-Lennard Struff (6-3, 7-6(5)) en Marek Michalicka/Roman Vogeli (6-3, 6-2) in the earlier phase of the tournament. Thiemo’s last doubles tourney victory dates back to August 2009, when he won the title with Raemon Sluiter in Vigo (ESP).
