Thiemo will play with big heart against Djokovic

Thiemo will play Novak Djokovic with big heart this Monday. The Dutchman says he is ready for the match and hopes to show the best he can. Their match is second on the Philippe Chatrier centre court.

Not sit and wait
“Djokovic has improved his service the past period and moves very handy. He doesn’t miss a lot”, explained Thiemo after a practice session with Andy Murray on Sunday. “Usually it has no use to wait for him in the rally, so I have to do it myself. I am not going to sit and wait. I will have to find my limits tomorrow.”

Raemon Sluiter knows Monday’s task. “Thiemo needs to keep the pressure on Djokovic, but with some control in it. Usually a lot of players over hit against the top guys, Thiemo needs to avoid that”, according to the coach. He sees some chances in Djokovic’s play. “I think he doesn’t have to most impressive second serve on the tour, Thiemo can do something with that. Before that, Djokovic has to hit some second services”, Sluiter laughs.

“It is an advantage Thiemo had a training with Andy Murray today (Sunday, red.), a big name. And yes, he was hitting the balls pretty well. Hopefully the same goes for tomorrow.”
