'Disappointing' feeling after early exit

The Internazionali BNL d'Italia 2011 ends in the opening round for Thiemo. The 22-year old could not show his best form against Italian Filippo Volandri on Sunday. He lost 1-6, 2-6 after one hour of tennis.

Thiemo struggled to find his service rhythm that helped him winning against Juan Carlos Ferrero in Madrid last week. “I did not had the good feeling from the start”, told the Dutchman after the match. “I felt weak and things did not work out as I hoped. I am really fed up by the way how I served.”

No explanation
“Volandri played well, his shots were heavy and did not make many mistakes”, he continued his analyze. “I do not have an explanation why I played a poor match. My preparation was ok, no differences. I will leave Rome with a disappointing feeling.”

The current world number 74 ends his Southern-Europe swing with three wins and three losses. Thiemo will start his preparation for Roland Garros this week. The second Grand Slam tournament of the year starts May 22.
